Privacy Policy
Effective August 3, 2026
Chesherie LLC (“Chesherie,” “we,” or “us”) builds mobile applications for social coordination. This policy explains what personal information our websites and applications collect, how we use it, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices you have. It applies to all Chesherie products unless a product presents a different notice at the point of collection.
Information we collect
We collect only what a coordination product needs to function.
- Account and contact data. Your name or display name, email address, phone number if you choose to provide it, profile photo, and the contacts you invite or connect with inside the app. If you grant contacts permission, we use it to match people you already know; we do not upload your full address book for any other purpose.
- Dietary and food-avoidance information. Allergies, intolerances, religious or ethical dietary practices, and similar preferences you enter so that group plans account for them. Some of this may reveal health or religious characteristics, so we treat it as sensitive: it is used only to generate and share plans with the people you are coordinating with, it is never used for advertising, and it is never sold.
- Location data. Coarse or precise device location, and places you save or search, used to suggest venues and midpoints and to show plans near you. Precise location is collected only while you are using the app and only with your operating-system permission, which you can revoke at any time.
- Device and usage data. Device model, operating-system version, app version, language, IP address, crash reports, and in-app events such as screens viewed and features used.
- Content you submit. Messages, plans, notes, photos, and support correspondence.
We do not knowingly collect government identifiers, payment card numbers (payments, where offered, are handled by the app store), or biometric data.
How we use information
- To provide the core service: creating accounts, coordinating plans, matching availability, and honoring dietary constraints within a group.
- To send transactional and plan-related notifications you have opted into.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse and fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To diagnose crashes and measure aggregate feature use so we can improve the product.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To comply with law and to establish or defend legal claims.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use dietary, health-adjacent, or location data to target advertising.
Third-party processors
We use a small number of vendors that process data under contract and only on our instructions:
- Google Cloud Platform — application hosting, databases, and encrypted backups.
- Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, real-time data sync, push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics for crash diagnostics, and Google Analytics for Firebase for aggregate product analytics.
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries where they operate. Where transfers are subject to European or United Kingdom data-protection law, we rely on standard contractual clauses. A current list of subprocessors is available on request at hi@chesherie.com.
Retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. Plan content and dietary preferences are retained while they remain relevant to your account and are deleted with it. Deletion requests are honored within thirty days, after which data persists only in encrypted backups for up to ninety days before expiring. Precise location points are retained no longer than twelve months. Aggregate, de-identified analytics that cannot reasonably be linked to you may be kept indefinitely.
Your rights and deletion requests
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to appeal a decision we make about your request. You can delete your account from within the app; you can also email hi@chesherie.com and we will verify and process the request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland may also lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority.
Children’s data
Our applications are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we delete it and the associated data. Where local law sets a higher age of digital consent, we apply that age instead. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information to us should contact hi@chesherie.com.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest by our hosting provider. Administrative access is limited to personnel who need it and is protected by multi-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect.
