Holler Privacy Policy

Effective September 25, 2026

Holler is operated by Chesherie LLC. This policy covers the Holler app specifically. Where it differs from the general Chesherie policy, this one governs Holler.

What Holler knows about you

What Holler never receives

There is no online indicator and no last-seen, and there never will be.

Your contacts

If you choose “Find your people”, Holler reads your contacts on your device, converts each phone number into a one-way scrambled value (a SHA-256 hash), and sends only those values to check which of them already have Holler accounts. Names and actual phone numbers never leave your device, and nothing about your contacts is stored on our servers — not the names, not the numbers, not the scrambled values, whether they matched or not.

When you add someone, their number is kept on your phone so Holler can dial them without ever asking a server for it; removing them deletes it. You can skip all of this and add people one at a time — that path never asks for contacts access at all.

Analytics

Holler collects a small amount of product analytics, such as when the app is opened and whether anyone was free when it opened. Analytics is tied to a random identifier for your account, not to your name or phone number. It never includes who your friends are, who you called, your phone number, or anything you wrote. Analytics is kept for 30 days and is deleted when you delete your account.

Holler is not for people under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
